Are any family physicians accepting new patients?

Dr. Adam Burgess joined the clinic in July, 2018, and is accepting new patients.

Dr. Brent Turner joined us on May 7, 2018. He is currently accepting new patients.

Your first new patient appointment will be a ‘Meet and Greet’.

What services does the Primary Care Network (PCN) offer at Justik Medical Clinic?

If your family physician feels it is warranted, you may be referred to the PCN staff for assessment and teaching. Our PCN nurses see patients with chronic disease such as diabetes, and often aid the physician by conducting medication reviews with the patient. Other PCN professionals on site are dietitians, exercise specialist and behavourial health consultant.

How do I get my prescription renewed?

It is important that your prescription is renewed on time. We encourage you to make an appointment as certain medications require follow up. Your physician needs to determine whether the medication is correct for your condition, or whether you are having any side effects. If you have an appointment already booked to see your physician, please have your medications renewed at this time.

If, however, you find that you are unable to come in and you require a short-term refill of your medication, you may ask your physician for a telephone refill. Please note that this is an uninsured service and you will be billed $40 for a call to your pharmacy.

Your physician will not renew your prescription by telephone if this may be detrimental to your health.

Can I drop off forms for my physician to complete?

It is important for you to make an appointment to see your family physician to have any form completed. Up-to-date information is crucial when completing forms.

If you have recently been seen by your physician, you should check with the staff to see whether you may drop off the form without seeing your physician. However, this is the physician’s decision and the staff will advise you accordingly.

Prior to giving the form to your physician, please make sure that all patient information is completed, plus your signature authorizing release of your medical information.
